DLA Finale Overhaul Update - Changelog


The main focus of this update is to wrap up everything that still needed fixing/adding. This includes reworking the Goddess fights and improving them (also making them harder), finishing the Crystal Shard shop as well as some minor improvements to Chapter 4 and the Epilogue. This will be the final patch, aside from future updates which will add the missing art into the game

General Gameplay Changes:

  • Lowered the boost from breaking enemies from 200% increased damage down to 150% increased damage
    • While trying out the bosses more extensively, I felt that the increased damage was a bit too high and as such, lowered it.
  • Made even more non-specific weapons available to use for all allies, rather than just Alice
  • The chain state mechanic can now be read about in the 'Kyloth's Combat Guide' item.
    • The chain state mechanic is the "Soaked > Frozen > Thawed > Electrified" states
  • Added a mention at the start of the game that tells you can access the last 20 messages by using 'Shift'

Goddess World (Hub World) changes:

  • Added Crystal Shards around the Hub World
  • The rest of the unlocks from the Crystal Shard shop
    • At 76 crystals, you unlock a "boss rush" where you can rechallenge harder versions of some boss battles. You will get rewards upon completing them for the first time
      • At 91 crystals, you will unlock a portal to a secret area that has some rewards as well as more lore
        • This area is in the game already and has been for a while, but it was intended to be added as an unlock from this shop and has only now been added as one
      • At 101 crystals, you gain the final unlock which will be a secret boss battle intended to be the hardest fight in the game. Upon defeating the boss, you will be able to get a less evil ending to the game
        • The finale dialogue has been changed slightly as well to accomodate the new ending
  • Changed the look of the giant mountain slightly (Added torches to it)
  • Changed the look of the basement of the shop slightly
  • Added dialogue that tells you when you can access the Side Chapter
  • Added a book outside the Crystal Shard shop that lets you revisit past Chapters in case you missed something in them
    • This feature has not been extensively tested and might be a bit bugged, so if you encounter any bugs during the return to a Chapter, please report them!

Chapter 1 Changes:

  • Changed the text that appears when trying to break down some of the doors that aren't breakable
  • The portal that lets you skip chapters at the start of the game has now been removed
  • Added 5 more Crystal Shards to the Chapter

Chapter 2 Changes:

  • Added a flashback that comes after you defeat the Dancer
    • This was done to bring it more in line with how Chapter 1 ends
  • Added 5 more Crystal Shards to the Chapter

Chapter 3 Changes:

  • A storm will now appear during the scene with the Pirate Queen
    • This storm will also carry over to the battle itself
  • Made all of the chapter mini-bosses harder as well as give more Gold and JP when they are defeated
    • A lot of the bosses could just be one-shot previously, so their stats were brought up a bit
  • All of the mini-bosses in this chapter now has a name
    • Dialogue has been updated to reflect this
  • Changed the look of the Atlantis entrance
    • You now arrive at the entrance with your ship again as well, this time intentionally
  • Added a flashback that comes after you defeat the Pirate Queen
    • This was done to bring it more in line with how Chapter 1 ends
  • Added 5 more Crystal Shards to the Chapter

Chapter 4 Changes:

  • Changed the placement of objects slightly
  • Updated the looks of the maps
  • Made the inside of the church slightly smaller
  • Made it more clear which buildings you can enter and which ones you can't
  • Added multiple NPCs to the maps of Chapter 4, primarily the main map
  • Added three new buildings that you can enter
    • Two of them are in the Residential district and one is in the Agricultural District
  • Added more chests to the chapter
  • Added Crystal Shards that you can find scattered around Chapter
  • Added a flashback that comes after you defeat the Thunder Goddess
    • This was done to bring it more in line with how Chapter 1 ends

Side Chapter Changes:

  • You can now only access the Side Chapter after having completed Chapter 3, rather than Chapter 2 as it used to be
  • Changed the trial where you have to lose to an enemy so that the enemy will always deal a certain percentage of your HP, rather than a set amount like it used to
    • This should make this trial go much faster, rather than the several minutes some people had reported
  • Added 5 more Crystal Shards to the Chapter

Epilogue Changes:

  • Compressed the Music section of the credits and made it scroll a bit faster as well
  • You can now visit the Demon Lord Castle during the Epilogue as well as the forest leading to it
  • There is now a church on the way to the shrine which functions as a gallery during the Epilogue
  • Added some more optional dialogue
  • Different dialogue has been added based on which ending you choose
  • Changed some of the maps slightly
  • You can now pause and save during the epilogue

Chapter Boss Changes:

The Dancer fight changes:

  • Hugely buffed stats (Hits much harder and is much more sturdy)
  • Dialogue has been added to the fight
  • There are now two phases in the boss fight
    • The second phase applies a DoT effect to the entire party for the rest of the battle
  • She now has 6 break shields instead of 5
  • She now gives 1000 Gold and 1000 JP on defeat (Up from 300 Gold and 500 JP)

Pirate Queen fight changes:

  • Hugely buffed stats (She now hits much harder and is much more sturdy)
  • Dialogue has been added to the fight
  • There are now two phases to this battle as well
    • During the second phase, the party's agility will be lowered by 50% and they will also take 30% more lightning and ice damage
  • Her 'One Piece of Treasure' skill has been buffed to buff all her stats by 33% rather than just ATK, MATK, DEF, & MDEF by 25%.
    • This skill will now be used earlier in the turn order as well
  • Her healing skill that she can use while below half HP has now been capped to only being able to be used 3 times per battle as well
  • She will now use her 'Wrath of the Pirate Queen' skill much more often when under 50% HP
  • She now has 8 Break Shields instead of 5
  • She now gives 1000 Gold and 1000 JP on defeat (Up from 300 Gold and 500 JP)

Thunder Goddess fight changes:

  • Hugely buffed stats (She now hits much harder and is much more sturdy)
  • Dialogue has been added to the fight
  • There are now two phases to this battle as well
    • During the second phase, at the end of each turn, a lightning strike will hit one random ally for 2000 Thunder damage
  • She now has 8 break shields instead of 5
  • She now gives 2000 Gold and 2000 JP on defeat (Up from 300 Gold and 500 JP)

Supreme Goddess fight changes:

All Phases:

  • Changed the dialogue slightly and added more dialogue to each phase
  • Hugely buffed stats (Hits harder and can withstand more damage)
  • She now has a slight weakness to Earth and Wind damage as well
  • The boss now has an additional skill she uses: 'Heavenly Light'
    • This is a single target Light damage skill that the first Goddess uses
  • Changed her name to no longer include the "Phase X" in it
  • She no longer gives JP or Gold upon defeat
    • There's no need for either since she's the final boss of the game

First Phase:

  • Another enemy has been added to this phase
    • The enemy is a much stronger version of the Goddess from Chapter 1
  • She now has 10 Break shields instead of 5

Second Phase:

  • Another enemy has been added to this phase
    • The enemy is a stronger version of the Dancer
  • She now has 8 break shields instead of 4

Third Phase:

  • Another enemy has been added to this phase
    • The enemy is a stronger version of the Pirate Queen
  • She now has 6 break shields instead of 3

Final Phase:

  • Another enemy has been added to this phase
    • The enemy is a stronger version of the Thunder Goddess from Chapter 4
  • She now has 4 break shields instead of 2

Alice Changes:

  • Lowered the damage on most of Alice's skills in order to not bump up the enemy's defenses too high
    • Niflheim Rend in particular had way too high damage
      • This way, the enemies will still be tankier, but your allies will still be able to deal damage to them
  • Increased the cost of most of Alice's upgraded skills
  • Inceased the cost slightly of Alice's normal skills

Skill Changes:

  • The player version of the 'One Piece of Treasure' skill has been buffed slightly. It now boosts stats by 33% (up from 25%) to match the newly-buffed version of the skill that the Goddess has
  • 'Styx' and 'Gjoll' have both been nerfed slightly.
    • The 'Styx' DoT state is now no longer indefinite and is instead only active for 5 turns. The damage has been nerfed as well. It has been lowered from 8% of the enemy's HP per turn down to 3%.
  • Inget now only costs 50 TP and does a lot more damage
  • Lowered the TP cost of all the allies' drain skills from 75 TP down to 50 TP
  • The 'Song of Devotion' buff no longer persists after battle

Minor Changes:

  • Changed the name of the skill you get from completing Leucosia's side quest to 'Song of Devotion'
    • Previously, the name was 'The Queen's Song', which is the same name as one of Leucosia's other skills
      • The buff that the skill provides has also gotten its name changed to reflect the name change
  • Changed the icon for the 'Soaked' state to distinguish it from other states

Bugfixes:

  • Lowered volume on music on some maps & battles
  • Fixed some spelling mistakes and text formatting issues
  • Fixed a bug in the Side Chapter where you couldn't enter the Destroyed Castle from the overworld
  • Fixed the bug where you could play at the casino even if you didn't have enough money
  • Fixed various clipping issues
  • Fixed a bug where the 'The Perfect Swimsuit' quest would crash the game if you interacted with it via the quest journal
  • Fixed an issue where you would keep the upgraded version of the Water Slash skill when you should've lost it and also didn't get Water Slash back either
